Carnaval

First Sunday of June (rain date second Sunday) on Broadway between McGrawth and Pennsylvania ave

ESMS takes on the internationally-renowned Open Streets concept, closing busy city streets to vehicles, and opening them up for cycling, walking, dancing,running, and other modes of activity. Event includes 3 stages with renowned musical artists from around the world, drinks, food and sports activities. This event is a celebration of the diverse cultures represented in East Somerville.

Movie Nights in the Park

Last fridays of July, August and September (rain dates following day) at Chuckie Harris Park, 3-17 E Cross St

In collaboration with the Arlington international film festival and the Somerville media center. This event will also showcase two local restaurants offering food, beer and wine as well as a local band. This event aims to create a cultural experience 

​

  • Around 50-70 people per event 

  • Young professionals between 25 and 50 years of age

Foodie Crawl 

On a Tuesday, mid September (rain date following day) On Broadway from McGrawth to Sullivan Square

The Foodie Crawl is an interactive tasting tour of more than a dozen restaurants, who provide a sample of their speciality cuisines, promoting locals restaurants while raising funds for East Somervlle Main Streets. Streets remain open to traffic. Event offers local music and beer gardens.

  • Over 900 people in attendance 

  • Young professionals and college students between the ages of 25 and 60 

  • Where do they come from: East Somerville, Somerville wide, Arlington, Medford, Boston area 

Halloween Block Party

On the Saturday of or immediately before Halloween (rain date is the following day) at Chuckie Harris Park 3-17 E Cross St

 The event hosts families and local nonprofits to enjoy Halloween themed activities

  • Where do they come from: East Somerville, Somerville wide, Boston area 

Fall/Spring Clean ups 

Two Events - Fall cleanup October/Nov​ember - Spring End of April. Fall throughout East Somerville, Spring city wide 

 

These events are the perfect opportunity to be seen serving the community
