Our Faces: Immigrant Inheritance in East Somerville

The final phase of Faces of East brought the community's vision to life through a series of public art banners installed along Broadway. Designed by local artist Andrés Duarte (@nxnandres), the artwork was inspired by the stories, drawings, memories, and ideas shared by residents during the project's community engagement events.

The banners celebrate the diversity, creativity, and identity of East Somerville while transforming Broadway into a vibrant outdoor gallery. More than a public art installation, the project reflects the collective voice of the neighborhood and serves as a lasting reminder of the people who make East Somerville unique.
